Infinite experience with our beloved Tentipi
-
Sweden, Lapland, Sarek
This area is also known as Laponia, a very rugged region in the land of the Sami.

Linda and Patrick ..
Over 6 years of traveling with the Tipi in all seasons has given us a wealth of experience.

A home far away from home
We can fully confirm this credo from Tentipi. Sleeping, eating, working. Sometimes with an open fire, sometimes with a stove.
Born from over 2100 nights under canvas:
Our journey to Holmstock Travel
Our journey to Holmstock Travel
The power of the elements
Holmstock Travel was not conceived behind a desk, but around a campfire in the Scandinavian wilderness. For over six years, a Tentipi was our home. We traversed the untamed nature of Sweden and Finland, braved icy winters in the High North, and enjoyed the endless summer days in the Skärgården and on the archipelagos of Åland, Gotland, and the rugged Fårö.
These 2100 nights under canvas shaped us. We didn't get to know the Nordics through a map, but by simply being there. We felt the biting wind of the Baltic Sea, smelled the fresh morning dew in the forests of Norrland, and learned to listen to nature. The unmistakable, trumpeting sound of the Grus Grus (the crane) became our alarm clock.
From preparation to 'Signature Journeys'
Our years of wandering were the ultimate preparation for what Holmstock Travel is today. We explored regions, sought out the most interesting locations, and drew inspiration from the local culture—from the traces of Pippi Longstocking to the deep-rooted Viking history embedded in the landscape.
With our Signature Journeys, we bring this essence to you. We chose the tipi as our base because in a tent, you don't just see nature; you literally experience it. The temperature, the scent of the forest, and the sounds of the night penetrate, while you enjoy the comfort and safety of a Scandinavian icon.
Our promise: The foundation is already set for you
You don't need 2100 nights of experience yourself to enjoy this. For our Signature Journeys, we have already selected the most beautiful places and set up the tents for you. Whether you choose a winter expedition in Lapland or a summer retreat in the forest: you step directly into the adventure that we have refined over many years.

From passion to signature travel
-
6 seasons and a husky
Impressive performance, that's what characterises the Tentipi Safir CP9 with which we are travelling. Harsh winters, strong storms, heavy downpours. Survival and outdoor, beautiful words for often tough times.
-
Open fire in the tipi
Tentipi's ingenious concept is super well-thought-out, of solid quality. Harnessing the primal forces of fire and using them to your advantage for cooking, for warmth and comfort.
-
A smoking chimney
The wilder the landscape, the more you will experience what a smoking chimney means to you. We can offer you this experience through our signature trips, which are truly something special.
Why We Swear by Tentipi® Nordic Tipis
Scandinavian design for extreme elements
When you live outdoors for 2100 nights, you quickly learn that your gear must be your best friend. We have slept in the most diverse conditions: from scorching heat on the limestone plains of Fårö to stormy nights in the forests of Norrland and sub-zero winters in Lapland.
Our choice for Tentipi is no coincidence. These iconic tipis are designed to withstand the harshest Scandinavian storms while offering unprecedented comfort inside. Thanks to unique ventilation and the option of using a wood-burning stove (like the Eldfell), the interior remains snug and dry, regardless of the weather outside. It's the perfect balance between raw nature experience and Scandinavian ingenuity.
Not because we sell them, but because we believe in them
Holmstock Travel is not a tent store. We don't sell tipis; we deliver the experience. Yet, we often get asked:"Which tent should I buy if I want to do this myself?"
Because after six years, we dare to say that these are virtually the best tents in the world, we are happy to refer you to the manufacturers. Do you want to become the proud owner of such an indestructible Scandinavian icon?

Questions and answers about TENTIPI AND CAMPING IN THE FAR NORTH.
FAQ and tips
What is a Tentipi?
A Tentipi is a high-tech Nordic Tipi, based on the traditional design of the Sami people in Lapland. Unlike ordinary tents, a Tentipi offers exceptional storm resistance, standing height, and the unique possibility of having a wood-burning stove or open fire inside. It is the ultimate tent for those looking for an authentic nature experience without compromising on quality.
What is an adventure tent?
An adventure tent is designed for extreme conditions off the beaten track. For our Signature trips, we use Nordic Tipis from Tentipi, as we believe these are the most reliable adventure tents. They are fully resistant to strong winds, rain, and snow in the rugged Scandinavian climate, while still offering a cosy 'home' in the wilderness.
What Tentipi models are there?
The Tentipi range consists of the Adventure series (such as the Safir, Zirkon and Onyx) and the Event series for large groups. During our 2100 nights in the wilderness, we have tested every model under all conditions: from the ultra-strong Safir for demanding expeditions to the versatile Zirkon for comfortable all-round use.
Can you camp in the Arctic winter?
Yes, provided you have the right equipment and knowledge. Our experience has shown that a Tentipi with a wood-burning stove (such as the Eldfell) keeps the inside comfortably warm, even when it's -20°C outside. Good ground insulation, a reindeer hide, and respect for the elements are essential for a safe and magical winter experience.
Never go Arctic camping without preparation and/or professional advice!
Is wild camping allowed in Sweden?
Yes, in Sweden, you can wild camp in nature. During our 6-year journey, we've discovered that the most beautiful spots are often deep in nature, far from civilization. The rule is simple: leave no trace and respect the privacy of landowners by not camping within sight of houses. It's the ultimate way to experience the tranquility of the North.
You can read about Swedish legislation here.
What does "allemansrecht" (Allemansrätten) mean?
Allemansrätten is the Swedish right to enjoy nature under the motto 'don't disturb, don't destroy'. For us, this meant the freedom to discover the most beautiful locations for 2100 nights. It allows you to hike and spend the night almost anywhere, for example in a Tentipi, as long as you treat the fragile Scandinavian nature and local residents with deep respect.
Extra tip: Inform yourself in advance about local legislation and the most current regulations regarding making fires (fire risk).
